Hey guys! Help me to give a warm welcome to Caitlin!
She holds the title of the 1st ever Pretty Good Things' Intern! HOLLA!
Caitlin's been working with PGT since the beginning of July and I have to say, it's been quite enjoyable to get to know her a little better in this short time. Plus it's like a chatty craft session each day she's in the studio (which means even more fun goes into making PGT goodies).
She's helping me make PGT treasures, photo them, research, blog and do a lot of other bits around the shop.
The only downside of having an intern is I have to remember to wear deodorant and change into "real clothes" versus wearing PJs all day. But enough about me.
Caitlin is getting ready to graduate (give her more than just a polite golf clap for that one) with her BA in apparel design from UNL. She currently works at a bridal shop in town and is in the works of planning her own indie apparel/alterations/accessories business. This girl's got the skills to pay the bills, folks.
I asked if she would be so kind to answer a handful of questions so you dudes and dudettes could get a little peek into her brain:
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
Q. You form a girl gang. Name your top 5 posse members. (dead or alive, famous or not)
A. Hoping that fictitious members are allowed my team would consist of Buttercup, (The Powerpuff Girls!), Mulan, Joan of Arc, Michelle Kwan (she's a great skater, maybe a decent fighter?), and Annie Oakley.
Q. What fashion trend do you want to see more of?...what about less of?
A. A fashion trend that I wouldn't mind seeing more of are jelly shoes! It's the one fashion from the 90's that I miss!

Some fashion trends that I wouldn't mind seeing less of is tacky tye-dye! More shibori and bandhani would be nice.
Q. What do you find to be the most annoying and the best things about fashion or the fashion world in general?
A. I think some of the best things about fashion is that it allows one to express their identity- whether it's a style that they have developed over time- or just by expressing how they feel that day.

But sometimes I suppose that opportunity can be equally horrible-- just don't look at it!!
Q. glitter or sequins?
A. Sequins, yes!

Q. You're about to graduate from college. Now, Time travel: What advice would you give yourself on that first day of college?
A. Do what you like to do. Like if you really enjoy studio class, concentrate on them more.

A. I can certainly tap-dance. A bit.

Q. What did you want to be when you were a kid? Do you see any relationship to that and where your career interests are now?
A. I think I wanted to be an art-teacher or fashion-designer. If I could find a story/drawing illustrating "what I wanted to be when I grow up" from kindergarten, then I would know for sure!

Q. Red wine or white wine?
A. I do love me some red table wine (:
Q.
Why are you awesome? (if you feel weird answering this first of all,
don't: toot your own horn. but another way to think about this is what
would your BFF say about why you are awesome?)
A.
If my BFF were to describe why I am awesome, it might be because I am
there for her; whether she needs a drinking/shopping bud, a seamstress,
or just a friend to listen.
Q. Where can we find (stalk) you on the internet?
A.
Not too many places. I do spend too much on Pinterest- and I try to
pin a lot of D.I.Y. and neat ideas/products/apparel. Hopefully I will
make some more stalker friends in the near future :)
